P A R T I N G  S T A G E
A LIVE CINEMA EXPERIENCE

Meet the Cast

Picture

Kaylene Te Wake
Riley

On the track to her ambition of becoming a writer, Kaylene's creativity has been channeled into co-writing the script for this Live Cinema Production. However her talent isn't just in the words, it's also in front of the camera as she is the lead female role. The challenge of gaining NCEA Level 3 and committing herself to First XI Girls Soccer and Hockey has not proven difficult. She still offers her all with rehearsals and on screen filming, demonstrating her dedication to get this show off the ground.
Picture

Rawiri Takinui
Bradley

Pursuing a career in choreography, dance and music, Rawiri has taken on the role of being one of the shows lead choreographers. With his unique talent on the dance floor as well as behind the camera, as one of the male leads, he has devoted his skills into enhancing the shows originality. As well as that he has prioritized his time well with outside commitments such as his role in New Zealand's proclaimed dance crew 'Identity'.
Picture

Jeff Taoa
David

Jeff is an aspiring dancer, who has participated in many of Aorere's dance competitions and performances. He's had previous experience on stage having taken Drama for many years. However, this is the first time his natural aptitude has been showcased on screen. In his final year of school, Jeff is working towards gaining NCEA Level 3 and also competing in dance competitions whilst contributing to making this show a success.
Picture

Tuelika Lao
Kodi

Having had no experience of being in front of the camera prior to joining the Film Academy, Tuelika has made an impact that has given her a big role in 2016. She's currently balancing Level 2, Gen X and work, as well as giving immense dedication to this live cinema production. This shows not only her commitment but capability to still give to the camera all the talent she has.
If a film  career is pursued, there looks to be an Oscar in the horizon for this young star.

Duane Hapimana
Mason

Duane has been a part of Film Academy for 4 years since this initiative was first established. Since then his love for the performing arts has constantly grown into a passion to pursue a career in the performing arts industry. Currently studying at The University of Auckland, after life at Aorere, Duane has been successfully balancing his commitment to university study and the making of the show. This ‘show biz’ experience has only fueled his desire to perform in the hope of entertaining and making others happy. He can’t wait for what lies ahead in the near future.
