- This programme is run in Te Puru by the Huhana Reihana and HOD Maori, Whaea Emma Potae.
- The group meets weekly on Wednesday lunchtimes at Te Puru.
- The main objective of the programme is to help Maori students with their schoolwork and to help them achieve to the highest level possible.

Affirming Works (Doreen and Vili)
- The Tupu’anga programme has been delivered at three different year levels this year by mentors, Doreen and Vili from Affirming Works.
- The main objective of the programme is to support students to stay in school, assist students with their schoolwork and help them with their transition into further education and/or employment.
Kedgley Intermediate Mentoring Programme

- The aim of this programme is to help Year 8 students from Kedgley Intermediate transition into Aorere.
- Students from the Junior Achievers’ groups and some Year 11s attended 2 days of training during the end of Term 3 holidays.
- These mentors will lead 4 sessions with 40 Year 8 students from Kedgley in Term 4.
Year 12 Leadership Mentoring Programme

- Students in Year 12 who are identified as potential leaders are trained and mentored all year by the Year 12 Dean, Mr Talbot and Year 12 Senior Leadership Team member, Ms Amy Martin.
- Those students who have shown that they have what it takes to be a leader at Aorere attend a camp in Dec for further training as a lead into becoming a Year 13 Prefect.
Year 13 Prefects Mentoring Programme (Prefects That Peak)

- AUT conduct quarterly visits to Aorere College to assist the Year 13 prefects in their leadership role.
Healthcare Heroes

The program offers mentoring, academic counseling, career events, science strengthening and meetings with parents as well as support for staff. PMA are currently working with 15 high schools.
Year 13 students receive Mentoring and Tutoring by ex-science students of Aorere College to improve their science skills. They also receive Career Shadowing, Work Experience, Attending a Healthcare Heroes conference where they complete their CPR qualifications, go on a lab tour at the Grafton labs in Auckland City and take part in a health profession work shop with various pacific health professionals. It is a proud moment of the school to see ex-students coming back and involving themselves in our school.

Holiday Tutorials
Aorere College students are very lucky to have dedicated teachers who offer tutorials in each of the Term 1, 2 and 3 holidays.
After School Tutorials
An extensive range of after school tutorials are on offer every Tues, Wed and Thurs afternoons to assist students in most subject areas. Students from Years 9 – 13 have the opportunity of getting extra help from their teachers at these tutorials.
