The Achievers' Programme has been running at Aorere College for 5 years now and is targeted at students who have the academic ability and attitude to want to achieve at the highest level. The expectation is that all students involved in the programme achieve to the very best of their ability and go on to tertiary education after they leave school. Students are selected to be part of the programme based on their academic performance or by staff recommendation. Parents are asked to sign a contract to say that their child is willing to be part of the programme and also that they as parents will commit to being part of the learning partnership with the school. Students meet on a weekly basis at a Homework Centre, plus they will be exposed to other experiences throughout the year. We are very fortunate to have such dedicated and willing staff who give up their time each week outside of the curriculum to assist these students.
