Business Administration & Computing – BAC201 - Year 12
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Students will learn how to use and apply knowledge of and skills in a wide range of computer applications. They will work towards generic computing and information processing unit standards useful for any career path or employment situation. Students will work towards gaining standards that contribute to the National Certificate in Business Administration and/or Computing. This course is suitable for students who are interested in careers or tertiary courses in Digital Technologies and related fields.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Open. Some NCEA Level 1 credits in ICT preferred, some computer skills required. Subject to HOD approval.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Students will learn about the office administration and clerical systems side of business organisations and the computer applications that support this. Workplace placement through the Gateway programme, and links with Tertiary providers are available.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 11+ credits from unit standards 2784 (Problem solving using spreadsheets). 2786 (Create and use a simple flat file database to solve a problem) and 111 (Operating a Word Processor, including file management and protection.) achieved in 12BAC.

QUALIFICATION
NCEA Level 3, counts toward National Certificate in Business Administration and Computing.
