The Dance and Drama department at Aorere College are looking to broaden our student’s perception of our subjects. We are developing students to understand where these Performing Arts have been in the past, and that how THEY are the revolutionaries of these arts in the future. Students are seeking motivation and inspiration from outside the square and pushing themselves to experience new genres within the art forms. Dance and Drama students that graduate from Aorere College will be well developed in performance skills, knowing specific techniques, terminologies, and etiquettes. They will be knowledgeable on choreographic and devising processes, be able to apply and give constructive feedback and feedforward, and be aware of dance and drama histories. Students who take part in these courses will experience live performances in well known theatres around Auckland. They will also be encouraged to take part in competitions and live performance experiences of their own, which help students to develop a sense of team work, pride and accomplishment.
