This is a practical and written course that will help students develop dance technique and skills. Students will improve dance literacy and learn about dance terms. It will offer students the opportunity to choreograph and perform. Dance in Year 10 prepares students for success in NCEA Level 1 Dance. A passion to perform and an interest in the performing arts is a must!

COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course builds on technique and understandings from Level 1 Dance. Students will learn about dance technique, genres and choreography and are required to complete written work.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Practical and written studies in Dance. Students will work individually to produce a dance performance. Students will also be expected to complete externals and complete all written components in order to successfully gain credits. The course focuses on choreography and performance skills.

Dance Academy - ADA301 - Year 13
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is replacing Dance Academy, and will take up 2 periods a week. This course is designed to extend DAN301 students to further develop both their technique and choreographic skills, as well as their dance knowledge for examinations, in preparation for Tertiary studies. It will consist of a continuation of student’s studies in DAN301 with the addition of 2 Unit Standards
