This course introduces students to the basic skills needed in meal planning and hygiene, and they will learn practical skills. It leads into the skills needed at senior levels for Hospitality and Catering.
Food & Nutrition – FDN101 - Year 11
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is useful for those students intending to work in food and hospitality. Students will take part in a variety of practical lessons which will develop their skills and confidence. They will learn about nutrition and sensible food choices, food safety and hygiene. There are normally 2 x practical lessons and 3 x theoretical lessons. The course that is offered if continued in year 12 can lead to achieving a National Certificate in Hospitality which paves the way for employment in catering and hospitality.
