History – HIS101 - Year 11

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Students will learn resource interpretation, historical perspectives and essay writing in a skills-based module. They will also study topics based on the themes of conflict and civil rights.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Students must have passed at least one Year 10 Social Studies Aorere standard or HOD discretion.

History – HIS201 - Year 12

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Students will learn about the past and how it has influenced the present. They will learn about events ranging from the Russian Revolution to the Vietnam War. This will develop a better understanding of the world today.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A pass in one external standard and one internal standard in one of the following Level 1 subjects: English or History or Geography or at HOD discretion.

History – HIS301 - Year 13

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Students will learn about the past and how it influenced the present. The course of study is based on Tudor/Stuart England between 1558 and 1667. Students will learn about three broad themes: economy and society; government and policies; and revolution, republic and restoration.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

A pass in one external standard and one internal standard in one of the following Level 2 subjects: Classics or English or History or Geography or Social Studies.

COURSE LEADS TO

Tertiary study in fields such as Science, Commerce, Planning, Law, Architecture, Arts, Business and Information Management, and Education
