Hospitality & Catering – HPC201 - Year 12

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Students will take part in a variety of lessons. They will learn about a variety of topics and issues related to nutrition and dietary planning. Each week they should have 2 x practical lessons and 3 x theoretical lessons. If they have carried this subject on from level 1 and achieve at this level they may be awarded the National Certificate in Hospitality which can pave the way into employment in the catering and hospitality field.

Hospitality & Catering – HPC301 - Year 13

COURSE DESCRIPTION

Students will learn about and develop skills that are easily transferable to the hospitality and catering industry such as barista skills and food and beverage services. The course is run in conjunction with the Manukau Institute of Technology and the Hospitality Standards Institute. It is a professional course and the pupils need to have a professional attitude if they are to achieve at this level.

Level 1 literacy or HOD discretion.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course is a Level 3 achievement standard course with barista training through MIT. Students are expected to have completed a satisfactory year at Level 2.

Careers in the hospitality and catering industry; Dietician and Chef training, tertiary study
