  • Roots of Babylon band competing in the Auckland finals for Pacifica Beats.
  • The Sweet Sixteen singing for the soundtrack of Sione’s Wedding 2 by Don McGlashan.
  • The Sweet Sixteen singing “All Lit Up” in the Rugby World Cup (RWC) opening ceremony, broadcast live to 50,000,000 viewers.
  • Three choirs competing in the Big Sing Auckland Regionals.
  • Sweet Sixteen and Front Row Choirs winning the “highly commendable” award at the Big Sing Regionals.
  • Decibelles Choir winning the Bronze award at the Sing Downunder Festival.
  • Awhina Waimotu’s composition “Te Atua” being performed for broadcast on the Discovery Channel in June 2012 for the programme: Through the wormhole.  This stars Dr. Donna Addis, a former member of the Sweet Sixteen and a present professor at the University of Auckland.
  • Sweet Sixteen Choir singing Awhina’s composition “Te Atua” at the Big Sing Nationals, winning the Maori Performance Award for the second time in four years.
  • Euphonics Senior Band competing in the KBB Music Festival for the fifth year in a row.
  • Euphonics Senior Band winning the Bronze Award in the KBB Festival for the third year in a row.
  • Four barbershop quartets and a barbershop chorus competing in YSIH Regionals.
  • Six individuals and groups competing in the Stand Up Stand Out competition (the only college to have a competitor in every music category).
  • Soulmonics Quartet winning Silver in the Stand Up Stand Out competition.
  • Doxlocks Barbershop Chorus winning 2nd place in the nation in the YSIH Nationals in Wellington.
  • Four Elements Quartet winning 3rd place in the nation in the YSIH Nationals in Wellington!
  • Four Elements Quartet singing on TV1 Countdown to 2011 at Sky City Theatre.
