Science – SCI101- Year 11
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course covers all sections of Science, providing a basis for specialisation in Biology, Chemistry and/or Physics in Year 12. The highlights of the course include developing and enhancing investigative skills, learning the reasons why students look like their parents, investigating properties of acids and bases and their use outside the classroom and studying the mechanics of objects around them.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Merit and/or Excellence grades in Year 10 Science. Science teachers will use their discretion to place students in the most appropriate Science course, based on their Year 10 results.

Science – SCI102 - Year 11
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is a general course for Year 11 students who found Year 10 Science difficult. Students will acquire a body of basic scientific knowledge and learn some important scientific ideas using basic experimental and investigative abilities to recognise the difference between scientific and non-scientific ideas. Highlights of the course include: Forensic Science, Sport Science and Horticultural Science.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Completion of Year 10 Science. Science teachers will recommend the most appropriate Science course for each student, based on their Year 10 grades achieved.

Science – SCI202 - Year 12
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is a general course which will suit students who may have taken 11 (General) Science and who wish to continue with their Science studies at Level 2 without choosing any particular specialist Science subject. Students will learn about different branches of Science such as the Living, Material and Physical World. The course involves scientific investigations and encourages the development of scientific skills and attitudes.

Science – SCI301 - Year 13
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This is a general course for students who may not wish to choose any particular specialist science subject. Students will learn about the use of science in technology and in everyday life. The course covers all five areas of Science: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Astronomy and Geology. The highlights of the course include investigations, research and field trips.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
14 or more credits in any of the Level 2 Sciences, except Electronics, or HOD discretion
