COURSE DESCRIPTION
Students will about people and groups within society in relation to cultural changes, social justice and human rights issues. They will also undertake an inquiry project that will involve research into an issue that relates to cultural change or social justice and human rights.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Students must have passed at least one Year 10 Social Studies Aorere standards or HOD discretion.

Social Studies – SOS201 - Year 12
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Students will learn about people’s actions and the impact that they can have on society. They will plan their own social action in relation to a social issue and explain people’s responses to value positions. Additionally, students will undertake an advanced inquiry project that will involve research relating to a significant idea about society.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Students must have completed NCEA Level 1 or at least 3 credits in Level 1 Social Studies, History, or Georgraphy or HOD discretion.

Social Studies – SOS301 - Level 3
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Students will learn about people’s responses to challenges within society. They will examine a social action in relation to social issue and explain a values system. Additionally, students will undertake an advanced inquiry project independently that will involve research relating to a significant idea about society.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Students must have passed two 2 standards in Level 2 Classics, English, Social Studies, History or Geography or at HOD discretion.
