Our Friendship Could be a Second or a Hour....

Meet Yuki!

My buddies name is Yuki. We talk to each other on a Japanese social media app called Line. I've known her for a month now and she's amazing. At Jishukan High School she studies Physical Education, Science, Maths, English, Japanese, Social Studies, Art and Presentation. Yes, you read that right, she studies 8 subjects!  "And I thought school was hard."
She loves Ariana Grande and Little mix as well as Japanese bands such as One Ok Rock and STM.  And She has a Dance club after school. She is also a really good dancer. She Cheers, does Jazz dance and hip hop.
I can't wait for everyone to meet her. I will be in her class 4D and
I'm scared, not of the students but of the stairs.... "it is going to be a wonderful journey."

On the other hand, she is different from me. I  mean we like a few things that different. "She's a dancer and I'm a singer". "She studies Physical Education and I only go to our P.E department if I'm looking for someone". Yes, we are very different but that's what the exchange is also about. Being open-minded and this experience teaches you qualities that help you grow as a person other than packing a suitcase. I will admit, when applying for the scholarship I was thinking I was going to be handed a plane ticket but I haven't left Auckland and I'm already learning a lot. For me, this experience is more than going on a 16-hour flight. But I am excited about the fun and "ramen".

Also from today...ITS ONLY TWO MORE WEEKS!!!!!!

Assembly with Novotel

Other than from our interviews, today was the day we actualy got to meet and thank people Novetel Hotel and Ibis Hotel. As the walked through the reception doors everyone almost froze. We just smiled. I personally didnt know if we shake their hands, hug them or "RUN". We were all just so nervous! After Mr Ali and Mr Pierce introduced us to another, we all froze for a little the went up to greet them. Us being highschoolers and them being leaders of big influential people. The meeting wasn't as awkward as we thought it would be. When Mr Pierce or Mr Ali would leave, they were very cool people to talk to. Especially Mr Sven Mattiesson.

I tittled this blog "The Golden Handshake"  for the assembly repersented more than just being congratulated. For me this was almost a milestone. "i mean who wouldn't fel that way" But recieving the Handshake from Mr Colombus made me feel almost "Golden"

I know I speak for my whole group, Aorere College, Jishukan High School and our community because it most probably wouldnt be possible without you guys.
So from the bottom of our hearts, I'd like to thank Novotel Hotel and Ibis Hotel for the wonderful opportunity. We are all extremly gratefull and excited
