Junior Prizegiving

Thursday, 8 December, our last day of school, saw expectant students and parents gathered in our school hall with staff and special guests to celebrate the academic successes of our Year 9 and 10 students. Our Year 12 leaders Jack Ioane, Tupou Leha, Merita Leniu and Rangimoturau Joseph did a great job of providing continuity through the ceremony.

Principal, Mr Drumm mentioned some of the exciting initiatives we have in place for 2012, such as trialling boys and girls only classes for some Year 9 students to address some specific learning needs and how we will be working closely with our parent community in the academic counselling and mentoring of our students, targetting Year 11.

Deputy Chairperson BOT, Mrs Janette Browning gave her address and outlined how the BOT was determined to continue being proactive and work with parents, teachers and students to continue to move the school forward.

After the prizegiving staff enjoyed a well earned Christmas lunch at the new Papatoetoe Sports Centre.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.
