Am I Ready?

Less than 2 weeks from now (on the 5th of July) I'll be heading to Japan. Am I excited? That's undetermined. However, I feel grateful for the opportunity.
Throughout term 3, the other recipients and I have all been preparing for departure. We all attend weekly Japanese cultural and language lessons. Throughout these lessons, I've learnt that my chopstick skills are less than ideal and that the Japanese food is ... different.

Speaking seriously, I am fortunate to have such an amazing teacher, and we are all learning the language quickly.
Arigatougouzaimasu, Miyamoto sensei!

I've also been attending weekly Exchange Preparation classes with Mr Ali. During these lessons we’ve discussed culture shock, money, going to the toilet, sleeping of futons and don’t even get me started on Onsen! In Jishukan High School, I will be taking subjects that aren't offered at Aorere College like Swimming and Judo. I think it's strange to have those as subjects, but I'm willing to try.
The best part of these lessons was learning about my buddy and host family.

Meet Junna. She's 15 years old, loves music and lives with her parents and older brother. I know we'll teach each other a lot and I'm excited to meet her family.
As a whole, I'm currently enjoying my weekly lessons, and I know me as well as the other recipients are ready to see Japan for our self.
After writing this blog, I'll change my response to the opening question. Am I excited? Definitely!
