Daily White Toast Reviews
HERALD THEATRE SEASON
Toasted to Perfection!
This show perfectly captured two things. Firstly, the intricacies of life as a student in an organic and authentic way. And secondly, the incredibly diverse talent of the Aorere College student body. Where the show shone for me, however, was in the marriage of these two things, which was done with humour and humility. Seeing the smiles and looks of accomplishment on the faces of all cast and crew members at the end of the show. I commend all who were involved and the way that you all collaborated to bring such a logistical carnival to us; the perfect illustration of hard work and teamwork that the Film Academy is becoming famous for. Ngā mihi.

Well done and awesome effort
Some brilliant actors in there. Thoroughly enjoyed Isa's role. Real issues and portrayed well. Overall brilliant effort and students are talented and multi-talented! Acting, singing and dancing was superb.

Loooooved the show
Inspiring, exciting, well written characters performed beautifully and with such a huge crew of talent driving the transitions and technology between scenes. Huge effort from all. Well done to the team - that sort of collaboration is a real challenge and you guys pulled it off so well. So many Isa moments! That character was my favourite - written really well and performed so well too. Huge effort has gone into that show - hours of rehearsal, writing, filming, chore, staring at screens and organising shoots... You guys made a rad show and created roles which challenged the audience and were layered and had depth (which I wish Hollywood could do more often for female characters like you did!) Thanks for a great show - looking forward to next year.

Well done bravo!
Friday's show was indeed toasted to perfection? Awfully proud of very talented main characters and indeed every single member of the cast and behind the scenes team members. Wish it played a few more nights. Favourite moment was JD's solo. Thank you for all your hard work through the year to bring this fabulous production to fruition. Loved the commitment of main characters to do justice to their roles to highlight a very topical and relevant issue that is the reality of many of our young people. Thank you for the courage to broach this topic in this way.

Brilliant!
Daily White Toast is a product of an adverse and extreme conditioning environment. Each and every member brought their own experiences and heart into the show and the result is a piece that breathes Southside. Nowhere will you find a group of kids presenting their vision is such a poignant and brutal way. Cast was amazing, able to adapt and feel the audience. Crew did an amazing job with what they were given. Dancers brought the hype and the musicians tore my heart to pieces. Favourite moment was Maia's spoken word. Well done AFA!

Brilliant!
Loved the originality of transitioning between stage and screen. This was seamless. The acting by the main characters also blew me away - outstanding! Well done to all involved. No favorite moment in particular - the whole production was fantastic. Keep up the great work, I am really impressed by the standard of talent at Aorere College.

I thought it was well written and also well acted - particularly by the two female leads. Well done!!! It was the best Film Academy I have seen (and I have seen 4 of them)

Absolutely Fantastic
Was absolutely fantastic when you think of it being an original and everything written and performed by the students with help from the teachers. Just so much talent in a small group. You all did awesomely and can’t say enough about it. My favourite moment was everything about Isa (not biased at all being Martha’s Mum). Keep it going, there are some real stars shining bright.
