Enrolments for 2025
Dear Parents / Caregivers
Due to growing demand from the community for enrolment at Aorere College, we have found ourselves in a position where we have to enforce the school zone established by the Ministry of Education in 2010. This zone will apply to all enrolments for 2025.
Aorere College will not be enrolling any students who live outside the Ministry of Education prescribed school zone unless they are a Year 8 student who has an older sibling who is currently enrolled at Aorere College and will be attending in 2025,or enrolled in either our Year 9 bilingual Māori Reorua programme, Amatakiloa (bilingual Tongan), or O Le Ta'iala (bilingual Samoan) classes.
The Aorere College Board has determined that there will be a maximum of 50 Out of Zone students at Aorere College, who can be accepted in the ballot for 2025, and that these will be at Year 9.
There are two very important dates that must be noted:
Wednesday 4th September 2024 is the deadline for submitting all Out of Zone enrolment applications. These are to be electronically submitted using the form found on the Aorere College website using the Enrolment tab. Alternatively, you can go to this link https://portal.aorere.ac.nz/index.php/enrolment to complete the online enrolment form. All supporting documentation such as proof of address, birth certificate/passport etc, can be uploaded at this time using this process.
If we need to hold a ballot, it will be held on Wednesday 11th September 2024. Please note that if the number of valid Out of Zone applications is fewer than 50, then a ballot will not be required, however if the number of valid Out of Zone applications number more than 50, a ballot must legally be held whereby all 50 successful applications will be randomly drawn under supervision. You will be notified of the result of the ballot within a few days.
The unsuccessful valid applicants will continue to be drawn at random and will be placed on a waiting list in the order drawn, in the event that any of the successful applicants decline the offer of enrolment.
There will be no further ballot in 2024.
