Sir confirmed to us that the Assembly Presentation will be on the 30th of May. I was honestly excited because that's my birthday. Well, guess what! It didn't happened on May 30th because it was a half day, and there was no assembly. So, they postponed it to the 6th of June. I was excited because I thought I'd be getting my certificate on my birthday, but oh well I don't mind getting it a week after my birthday. |
Well, learning the language was something that I was looking forward to when I applied for the scholarship. We had our Japanese lessons every Friday after school from 1:30-2:30 with an amazing teacher Yumiko Sensei. It wasn't easy nor hard, but it was interesting. | |
Made it through the first two rounds and It was finally coming to an end. Today, was the day I found out if I made it through or not. The thoughts of me not making it in made me scared and nervous, but I still managed to put on a big smile. Everyone was sitting in a semi-circle. I sat in the middle and all I could do was just smiling. I looked around at the finalists and I couldn't believe I've made it this far. Mr Ali was talking, I heard and listened to every word he said but my mind was thinking of something else. As Mr Ali was handing out the envelopes, I was so excited. I was the last person to receive my envelope. As I got it on my hands, I held it tight and started feeling it and It felt thick. It felt like there were more than just one paper inside. Positive thoughts start coming into mind. "They wouldn't use more than one paper to tell me that I didn't make it through." I planned to open it with my friends but I couldn't wait any longer. I slightly opened the envelope and all I wanted to see was either "Congratulations.." or "Unfortunately...". When I saw the word "Congratulations...." under my name, I didn't know If I should scream, laugh, cry or start jumping. I was over joy. I was supper dupper proud of myself. I rushed outside and couldn't wait to tell my friends the good news. Mostly couldn't wait to go home and tell my parents.
When I got home, my parents were very happy for me. They told me that they're very proud of me. Hearing these words and especially from my parents is all I want. And, I just want to thank them for all the love and supports that kept me going. The school and mostly Novotel for this opportunity and also myself for not giving up. Most importantly, I want to thank man above, Heavenly Father, for everything. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't be where I am today. I am grateful, thankful and blessed.
